Ready For Kindergarten!

—a parent education program for parents or childcare providers of children from ages birth-5.  It is designed to provide tools and activities every child needs to be ready to learn to read early and well, thereby reaching his/her full potential in school and in life.  Currently, we have 3 RFK locations in the County serving close to 100 families.

Books for Babies

—supported and funded by Memorial Medical Center and Mountain View Regional Medical Center.  All new parents receive a board book, a bib, a Reading Tips for Infants pamphlet and a brochure listing children’s programs available at Branigan Library.

Books on City Buses

—City of Las Cruces installed book pockets on city buses and stock each with children’s books.

Summer Reading Program

--recruited volunteers to read to children at various County Community Centers during their lunch hour.

Mesilla Park Elementary School and Central Elementary School Reading Program

—recruited volunteers to read with 2nd grade children two days a week.
