Kitsap-Olympic Peninsulas Reading Foundation Receives Grant

The Kitsap-Olympic Peninsulas Reading Foundation--READY! for Kindergarten Partnership received a Reading Readiness Grant award from the Washington State Department of Early Learning, in association with its partner, Thrive by Five.  The grant will be used to organize the Kitsap-Olympic Peninsulas Reading Foundation, and to expand the READY! for Kindergarten program to the Brinnon, Cape Flattery, and Bremerton School Districts, the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe, Suquamish Tribe, and local child care providers.  The North Mason and South Kitsap school districts piloted READY! for Kindergarten last year.  United Way of Kitsap County and the Parenting Matters Foundation in Sequim are key members of this regional partnership.
