The Children’s Reading Foundation of the Tennessee Valley has initiated its “Read with your Child” campaign.  This campaign will use public messages of many types to inform the parents of preschool children in Roane County, Tennessee about a simple and loving way they can make a significant and positive impact on the future scholastic success of their children when the children enter school and as they progress through their school years.  The parents will be asked and encouraged to simply take the time to read to their children a minimum of 20 minutes per day.  The goal of the campaign is to cultivate a culture in the Roane County community that supports and promotes all children learning to read well by the end of their third grade in school.  The Children’s Reading Foundation will accomplish this by providing and promoting education and encouragement to and of parents (and caregivers) on their important role in raising children who can read well.
