Nampa - Mr. McDonald told the Nampa Rotary Club during their Wednesday noon luncheon that ABF-UPack delivered 75,000 books for infants, toddlers, pre-school and elementary children donated by Random House in Alemeda, CA, for low-income children. The Rotary Clubs $1,650.00 award was added to two other charitable donations to defray the expense of transportation of the children's books. Treasure Valley Reading Foundation, with the help of Shilo Automatic Sprinkler, Inc., a local business owned by Stan Beus, unload the books. Mr. McDonald, acknowledge that “Without Shilo's equipment operator and equipment, we would not be able to receive these books. Four years ago, our largest shipment of books exceeded 65,000. Shilo Sprinkler assisted in unloading at that time as part of the national Make a Difference Day. The children of our community are grateful for the following organizations who partnered with the Treasure Valley Reading Foundation. Their recent charitable donations defrayed the freight costs: 1.Ed Ahrens, Boise Attorney , The Schindel Foundation - $3,000.00 2.June Smith , College of Idaho Student Philanthropy Council - $2,000.00 3.Andy Dodson, Nampa Rotary Club –$1,650.00 The retail value of these books is over $442,000.00 dollars. An estimated 75,000 low-income children will receive these books.
