BOOKS DONATED FOR SPELLING BEE

Gerry Boone, left, president of the Woman’s Century Club of Nampa, expressed delight at the donation of books from Scott McDonald, executive director of the Treasure Valley Reading Foundation.  The books were given to all the contestants in the Century’s Club’s Fourth Annual Spelling Bee.  McDonald and Boone are both members of the Nampa Kiwanis Club, which also works to benefit young children.  McDonald said the foundation has the books thanks to a $3,000 donation from Key Bank, and the spelling bee kids were the first recipients. For information about obtaining free books, schools may call McDonald at 249-1417.  Donations from other sources are also welcome.
