Training and Program Configuration

Program Training

The Children's Reading Foundation offers training each year, typically in Kennewick, Washington. Once trained, facilitators will return to your organization with everything you need to implement the READY! for Kindergarten program and to train additional facility child care providers. Licensees also have access to a printed resource notebook that comes in each kit, training videos and monthly webinars.

All involved with READY!, whether professional teachers or not, participate in training before implementing the READY! program.

Program Funding

There are several options to fund a READY! for Kindergarten program as part of a child care facility, some include:

  • Partnership (community foundations or clubs)
  • Sponsorships
  • Grants
  • Grassroots funding
  • Parent tuition

If the READY! program will be offered through a nonprofit, the 501(c)(3) status allows for donations and broader grant options. If you are interested in exploring the formation of a nonprofit, consider starting a chapter of The Children's Reading Foundation in your community. As a chapter of the national nonprofit organization, you gain immediate 501(c)(3) status. If desired, the chapter may offer additional programs and services to further literacy and education goals in your local area. Read more about The Children's Reading Foundation.
