What began as a grassroots effort in Kennewick, Washington, founded on the simple but powerful belief that reading together every day changes lives, has grown into a global movement. Three decades ago, our founders set out to help children succeed by encouraging families to read together 20 minutes a day. That commitment, rooted in community and volunteerism, laid the groundwork for everything we do.
